What is Adrenal Fatigue?

Adrenal fatigue, also known as adrenal burnout or hypoadrenia, is a condition where the adrenal glands, located atop the kidneys, become overworked and unable to produce sufficient amounts of hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, and DHEA.

This means the adrenal glands, responsible for managing the body's stress response, may be unable to cope with prolonged stress. When constantly overtaxed without sufficient recovery, they can become less productive, leading to a decrease in hormone output.

Symptoms may include fatigue, sleep disturbances, brain fog, sugar and salt cravings, muscle weakness, and irritability.

It's important to note that adrenal fatigue is a controversial concept.
